Joe Bosack's work first grabbed my attention a few years back when I was doing visual research in the initial phase of designing 12 mascots for a new local Arizona school district. Joe Unveils Bradley Mascot

PEORIA, IL - During pre-game festivities for the Bradley men’s basketball game against Loyola University, Chicago on February 22, the University introduced its new gargoyle mascot —Kaboom! — with an elaborate pyrotechnics display featuring flashing lights, loud sounds and smoke. The desire to develop a new mascot arose during the athletic department’s re-branding process in 2012. Research revealed a desire by the school’s many constituents to explore the introduction of a mascot to represent the campus-wide community.  More extensive research suggested the gargoyle as the most popular option.
